Here is a potted history from Paul (Silverleaf) himself.

Hi guys, just put a few details of the cars history so far; will let you chaps decide the rest.
Bought silverleaf in 1987, for my good lady wife, an mg metro with the cheese grater wheels.
Proved to be reliable and honest little car and never let us down once.
We’ve had some great road trips around France, happy days, and it also made the school run for many years.
So this cars has certainly not had the TLC life style.
It did not please the wife in the 80s, when following the Lombard Rally in Peebles Scotland and crunched the off side front wing.
We were about one hundred miles from the motorway, for the then journey home, to the midlands.
The places you went to support metro 6R4s....that year the rally didn't make Wales.
So moving on silver came to make some 150000 miles and at this point she became fully retired for a few years, locked away safely.
Along came 2005, and the decision had to be made to either scrap her or rebuild her.
We took the second option, purely for sentimental reasons and she was totally stripped and rebuilt.
Some of you guys may of seen some of the extreme lengths we've had to go to to save her to be honest regarding welding, etc.
Just look out for the silverleaf thread.

Then to the engine... something special i thought of to rob walker performance engineering.
Bored and honed to 73.5 with a 45 degree crosshatched honed finish, re faced to suit requirements, new camshaft bearings,
centre main strap, oil way and core plugs, stage 3 head, ported and polished, gas flowed, big valve head,
turbo crankshaft, ni-tempered, journals are relapped to size and balanced,
conrods checked for ovality and fitted with new rod nuts and bolts, balanced end over end, powermax pistons,
276 cam, chilled iron cam followers, duplex gears, flywheel assembly, turbo clutch, fully balanced,
with crankshaft, maniflow manifold, janspeed exhaust, K&N filter, Aldon automotive red dizzy, two core radiator,
Gaz shcks, polybushes, rear anti roll bar, turbo body kit, goes quite well.
Turbo box. but will be improving on that soon, not really happy with the ratios.
