Richard Young aka marinaman has aquired a 1990 Metro GTI.
Here is the car's history and his plans in his own words:
This is my 1990 Metro GTI purchased about two years ago in Leeds.

The car sold new in Leeds and was used by an old couple as a second car.

This has the original spec Storm Grey, with Lightning Granite trim and few modification.

The car has always been garaged and has had little use,
covering less than 100 miles a year for the past five years.

Since I purchased the car I have removed all plastic trim and body kit
in order to rust-proof the internal sections and replaced screws with stainless items.
In order to make the car reliable the brake system has had new seals and a fluid change, #

new radiator, cam-belt, alternator belt and full service.

Last year the GTI was pressed into every day service after the theft of my much loved Metro GS,
and clocked up over 4000 miles within six months.
I have tucked the it away for the winter and have a replacement Metro GS which is daily winter transport.
It was never my intention to like Rover Metro’s they were a modern alternative to using my classic car
during the bad weather but I have to admit having now owned six of them I must an enthusiast. (or Mad) ???
