Most of you who attended shows with the Club in 2008
will have seen this excellent example of a MK 2 Turbo at some time
accompanied by it's equally smooth owner Matt. 8-)

Here it is next to his 1980 VW T3 campervan

What he has done to this original 1989 car in the just under 3 years
he has owned it is phenominal and the results are superb.
The Animal sticker together with the front sunstrip are thankfully no more.

In his own words:


REPLACED:
Head gasket
all top engine gaskets
all ignition components
all crankcase & turbo hosing
water pump
auxilary belt
all service items ever 6 months
Carburettor rebuilt
fuel pressure regulator
fuel pump
all fuel hosing
in-tank fuel pick-up
headlights
ballast resister
clutch cable
steering column
steering com unit
both track rod ends
all 4 ball joints
front pads
rear shoes & cylinders
both rear wheel bearings
the list goes on... i dont want to think about it as the cost of it all worked out may bring me to tears! lol


The exterior is all original with the only addition to the interior being a boost gauge.
How clean is that ?!!!

On top of everything else it has:


Running on 175/50/13 yoko A539 tyres
All rubber bushes replaced with poly bushes front and rear
uprated shock absorbers
Complete maniflow "2 racing system
Diagragm dump valve
drilled air box with K&N
megaleads
boost increased to run 7psi upto 4000rpm which increases to 10psi at 6000rpm
Needle profiled by Peter Baldwin for optimun air/fuel ratioshowed 131bhp at the flywheel

Its great fun to drive, but isnt getting the use it deserves
at the moment due to being busy with other things :
Future plans are to clean underneath and all the inner arches
and wax oil before painting white and re-painting the subframes.


If you see a white Turbo for sale on Ebay it won't be this one as Matt is keeping it..a wise investment for the future.
