Stephen Colvin aka puddlejumper.
Here is the story of the car in his own words:
B656 DGJ was first registered 01/04/1985.
It was last on the road in 2001 and is currently on SORN
This is a rare black over grey duotone Mk1 1/2 model,
and is one of the first Mk2 turbos built,
fitted with Mk1 turbo wheels from new,
also some other Mk1 (spares bin) parts.
This is one of the lower mileage cars only 18000 odd miles from new.
I think the car may still have it original tyres fitted.
The Mk1 1/2 cars are easily spotted due to their yellow dash dials
(Full Mk2 models have red dials)
Originally purchased as a second car by an elderly couple,
the car was put into storage on the death of the owners wife,
where it remained for over 10 years, until it was recommissioned
and MOT'ed and sold to the member i bought it off.
It was then put in a garage until i purchased the car in 2010.
The car is in excellent condition with only a few rust spiders
on the front wings which have now been repaired.
Unfortunately this car is not destined to go back on the road.
Having spent over 20 years in solitary confinement in garages,
it has now been returned to its usual surroundings.
Due to storage issues in the UK the car has been shipped to Ireland
for long term storage in a dehumidified garage on the family farm,
although this time it has some good company.
It is currently sharing it's home with my 12000 mile Mk1 black MG
and my fathers owned from new Vermillion HLE model.
I have no future plans for the car other than to maintain it in the condition
it is in and one day in my old age find a museum that would be willing
and able to put it on permanent display.
