I saw it parked in St Helens 6 weeks ago and left my number on the windscreen.

This is the 'as described' slight dent in front wing

This rot I observed when I first saw the car

I expected things to be worse under here

See this Jack? No seatbelt holes ;)

This was the only hole in the boot floor......

After driving MK2's for a number of years it was a bit of a shock to get in a MK1 again. It seems so basic compared to my other Metro. It does, however, start up better in the morning. Over the next few months (more likely years!) I'll renovate it. Hopefully take to shows next season minus rust.

You've just got to learn how to weld now.

Damn you Jim... now i'm jealous  ..it also has the hardboard spare wheel cover with no cut outs ?

If you decide the resto is too much i will give you a good profit on it as i could have loads of Mk 1 spares
to keep Custard going as well as a correct bloody boot mat and hardboard cover

Good save there, another one kept alive 8-)

Should an A-reg have the original steelies on or had they changed to Metrics by then (thought they came in around B-C reg?)

My mate in Dundee has seen a 'w' reg MK1 several times in the last few weeks. I've told him next time he sees it get a note slapped on the windscreen. He's not into Metros but knows I like them. It was my intention to plonk my auto in store up there in the bus club building for the winter. Just as well I didn't as the Pug 205 needed a mountain of work doing recently.
