Great pics as always, but could you add a little content to it?

Where found.
Why you bought it.
Initial cost.
Cost so far.
Future Plans.

Etc Etc.

well , this is my 2nd amft ...i came across this car through the tickford owners club , the guy terry who owned it had a few amft metros in his time and he even broke one some years back , i think he used to show it at the er ...can`t remember now ..something regatta ? :( ...... any way as i had promised my doughter my other amt metro( see amt`s little nellie post ) when she was 18 ....i put a deal togever to get this one for my son when he is 18 ......( this after buying a buckett of a mk1 turbo tickford to restore for him ,see forthcomming post ) but now is going to be MINE :D :D :D ..... ive owned amft metros for 15 years and could sit here till next year telling storys on them ..... i now have fully restord both a amft and the mgtt reshelling both times and belive that there is no one else with that c.v. ;) .... this car was a metro 1.3s that was taken to amt for a full works job and is not one of the numbered cars that were put togever by amt ( my other amft ...little nellie is build number 017 ) there is some custom order to , like the gray piping that matches the seats ...its the only one ive seen like it ( out of 7 anyway ) it also has a bill richards engine that was fitted at some time although after contacting him he remembers doing the job but not wot the spec of the enging was ....... it also has a anti crab plate fitted ...after some work it turns out that the plate was fitter by avonbar the owner again remembers the car and thinks that it is 1340 with a 285 cam as he remembers the owner of the car at the time wanting a more stable car ...ive had the head off and the valves are maxed in and out and the out lets have been worked on too ..... a potent engine in a light car but these cars are 250LBs hevear then the standars 1.3s but with the cruse control on it will sit at a ton ... drops back to 85 on inclimbes .... handels like a go cart .... these came with a anti roll bar 5 mm thicker then the standard mg turbo one ..... as far as the tickford club are awere there are 5 amft metros that are knowen 3 silver leaf ( like this one ) one brown and my little nellie ( the only blue one ! ) ... one of the silver leaf one was sold from a museam with very minamal mileage about 5 years ago for 4K ... but it was only b- condition

this car is insured for £8000 ..... but realey its not coz it will never be sold ! :D :D :D

i have never showen any of these cars at shows as thay have always been my hobby and when i have had time ive just wanted to drive them ..... i have had some cars ...but pound for pound and cost for cost ..... even fun for fun .... these amft metros are my faverait ..... even better then a wp mini that i had ! ....... i just love em .....will out line my other metros later

dicky

i forgot to put that the engine was built by Bill Richards for the 2nd owner Mrs Mary Tombs.....she informs me " to give it a bit of pulling power" ....Mary`s name is ingraved on the rocker cover .."Engine Built by Bill Richards Raceing for Mary Tombs"

http://www.billrichardsracing.com/wp/

the Engine has its own B.R.R. Number

ITS NOT BAD FOR A 27 YEAR OLD CAR !
ON THE PIC OF THE BILL RICHARDS PLACK YOU CAN SEE THE V.I.N.PLATE ...NOTE THERES NO TRIM OR PAINT NUMBERS ...THESE CARS WERE BUILT AT THE ASTON WORKSHOP IN TICKFORD STREET FROM THE SHELL UP TO FINISH AND WERE DELIVERD TO THEM FROM AUSTIN WITH ONLY A VIN NUMBER.
